Capturing an Identity
Having worked on a few projects together in the past, Amy Grant (founder of Just Leap Life Coaching) asked Mindy to design her logo and business cards. Amy came to the table with some ideas for her brand, but her background as a business etiquette trainer seemed to hold her back a bit. “Amy is a dynamic individual whose motto is ‘make it a great day!’ When she showed me her initial ideas, I had to be honest that they weren’t visually communicating what I was hearing her say about her business,” Mindy remembers. “As we talked, certain things became clear about her vision for her company. We went back to the drawing board and started over with the images and colors that truly spoke to Amy. Things took shape quickly from there.”
While pink might not be the right color for everyone, it hit the nail on the head for Amy. Her personal signature color (and one that has come to represent healing, strength and recovery for many women), pink was exactly the right leap for this brand. The iconic sunshine captures both Amy’s positive personality and the optimism of her tagline: What if you CAN? And the yellow spiral inside the sunshine rounds out the logo, representing the life journey we are all on and the process of self-discovery that can be realized through working with a life coach such as Amy.
Mindy enjoyed the process of getting from point A to point B with Amy and Just Leap’s brand: “It’s one of the things I love about our start-up clients... I get to use design to help them portray who they really are.”
