Symbolic Branding
New Self Renewal Center opened in May 2008 as a totally unique concept in the marketplace—a fitness center, spa and café that caters to moms with young children. Showcasing New Self’s drop-in childcare and intimate fitness space presented a branding challenge for Pushing7.
A new mom herself, Mindy tackled New Self’s logo, business cards and brochures. Touring the space and talking to staff, Mindy summarized the feeling of New Self: “A single drop of water falling into a still pool creates a ripple effect as its impact circles outward. Day after day your life is like this drop of water: each day is a still pool. Your family, friends, work and responsibilities are the rippling circles.”
Building from this imagery, she chose blue as the main color in New Self’s logo to evoke the calming properties of water, and then added three concentric ripples of water. A neutral beige complements the blue tones. The result is a collection of branding materials that convey a feeling of rest and rejuvenation.
Since it opened, Pushing7 has established itself as a true branding and marketing partner for New Self. As the business grows, they rely on us as their agency. We provide graphic design and copywriting for postcards and brochures, signage for the café and fitness areas, tradeshow graphics and various other marketing needs.
